LeBron James could join Luka Doncic and Dallas Mavericks because of Mark Cuban
Mavs owner Mark Cuban talked about drafting Bronny James to get LeBron on the Pardon My Take podcast on Feb. 25 and in an interview with Sportsgrid. Cuban noted LeBron’s intelligence for informing the entire league that they would get his final season if they draft his son. It was clearly a move to increase his draft stock, but Cuban stopped short of saying Dallas would draft him. He noted that it would depend on Bronny’s talent.
Cuban could help the Dallas Mavericks in the pursuit of Bron and Bronny, though. LeBron is upset the Lakers did not go all-in to improve the roster around him. He wants to contend for a title, and he knows his chance to win fifth championship are limited.
Cuban put his team in “luxury tax hell” this offseason to put the best possible roster around Luka Doncic. Yes, they just traded Kristaps Porzingis to Washington, but that was the first of a series of moves to improve the roster around their 23-year-old superstar.
The Mavs are always trying to land the marquee free agents, and Cuban is willing to spend on a winning team, which could help Dallas in landing LeBron.
