Why LeBron James could join Luka Doncic on the Dallas Mavericks

LeBron James could join Dallas Mavericks because he loves Luka Doncic
The easiest and most likely place for James to help his son land is in Los Angeles. The Lakers have just Anthony Davis on their books for the 2024-2025 season right now, so the team can be fully remade to ensure LeBron and his son play on a contender.
If the relationship breaks down with the Lakers and James looks to play elsewhere, the Mavericks have one of the King’s favorite players. LeBron has drafted Luka Doncic in each of the last three All-Star drafts, and the duo has won each time. Before this year’s game in Cleveland, James had plenty to say about Doncic’s game.
Lakers’ LeBron James on Mavericks’ Luka Doncic: “The way he plays the game reminds me of the way I play the game. We’re triple threats. We rebound, we pass, which is the number one thing on our mind. … and we’ll put 40 on you too if you disrespect us.” pic.twitter.com/9vrxm4Zrvq

It does not stop there. When Luka was a sneaker free agent, LeBron tried to make him the first signee under his new sneaker team. Things did not work on that front as Doncic eventually signed with Jordan Brand, but LeBron made it clear that he wanted Luka.
King James wants his son to be successful in the NBA and to play for a contending team. LeBron pairing up his son with Luka Doncic, who is just six years older, could keep him on a franchise with a chance at winning the title every year of Bronny’s rookie deal and beyond.
