Kyrie Irving will have plenty of suitors including Dallas Mavericks

Irving struggled to stay on the floor in Brooklyn, and there was always a controversy surrounding him, but the Mavs had to outbid multiple teams to trade for him. Chris Haynes reported the Lakers and Suns both made significant offers to the Nets. Brooklyn chose the Mavericks package because it included two starters along with one first-round pick.

Both teams will be back in the running when Irving hits free agency. Kyrie could reunite with Kevin Durant in Phoenix or LeBron James in Los Angeles. Both superstars have interest in getting back together with the 30-year-old point guard as they look to win another championship.

The Mavericks traded three draft picks and two starters, so they are pot committed to trying to re-sign Irving in free agency. His market will not be limited to those three suitors. At least five teams will have cap space this summer and additional contenders could join the bidding if Kyrie remains healthy and helps the Dallas Mavericks make a postseason run.

Kyrie Irving’s trade demand in Brooklyn made it clear what he wants in free agency, and multiple teams are likely to offer it. Will the Mavs be one of those organizations, and is that enough to keep him in Dallas?
