Dallas Mavericks power forward depth chart heading into training camp
This is arguably the team’s deepest position heading into the 2022-2023 season.
Starter: Dorian Finney-Smith
Doe-Doe is the team’s best defender and arguably their best shooter. He just keeps getting better, and fans should expect him to play the second-most minutes on the team this season behind only superstar Luka Doncic.
Backup: Maxi Kleber
Head coach Jason Kidd will watch Kleber’s minutes carefully during the regular season as the team looks to keep him healthy and maximize his talents in the playoffs. The 6’10 forward can space the floor, defend on the perimeter and protect the rim. It is a unique combination that earned Kleber a three-year $33 million extension this offseason.
Third-string: Davis Bertans
The 6’10 sharpshooter will find minutes as the team looks to improve their spacing and add a bit of offensive punch to a lineup. Do not expect massive playing time, but head coach Jason Kidd will give Bertans a chance in more contests than fans think.
Non-guaranteed deal: Mouhamadou Gueye
Gueye is an intriguing 6’9 rookie shot blocker that needs time to develop. Expect him to play for the Texas Legends this season as the team looks to unlock his potential.
