Dallas Mavericks player most likely to be traded before 2022 deadline: 1. Moses Brown
The Mavs acquired Moses Brown in the Josh Richardson trade this summer, which marked the second time he was dealt. The 21-year-old has immense potential, but there is some question as to how much Dallas wanted him. Keith Smith explains further below.
The Mavericks are loaded at the center position too. Kristaps Porzingis, Dwight Powell, Maxi Kleber, Willie Cauley-Stein, and Boban Marjanovic are all ahead of Brown in the battle of rotation minutes. Yes, the 7’2 big man could blossom into a starting-caliber center, but are the Mavs willing to wait when they can have a rotation piece that helps them win now?
Rebuilding teams will be excited about acquiring Moses Brown after some of the stat lines he produced for the Oklahoma City Thunder last season, including his 20-20 game against the Celtics. The 21-year-old’s upside is tantalizing. He has made a positive impression and improved significantly since arriving in Dallas, but trading him may be the Mavs path to title contention.
Expect the Dallas Mavericks to remain active and aggressive in the trade and buyout markets this season. What pieces will they be able to add before the 2022 playoffs? Stay tuned to find out.
