Thing that will decide Dallas Mavericks Game 4 vs. Suns: 1. JB’s scoring
Jalen Brunson had 13 points on six of 16 shooting from the field in Game 1 before scoring nine on just three of 12 in Game 2. The 6’1 guard could not get anything going as the Mavericks' offense struggled to find its footing. Yes, Luka Doncic scored 80 points, but Dallas needed someone to help him for the team to have a chance in the series.
Brunson came out aggressive in Game 3 and had ten points in the first quarter. He was driving to the rim and creating easy buckets on his way to a team-leading 28 points on ten of 21 shooting from the field. JB also chipped in five dimes as the Mavericks outscored the Suns by seven in his 36 minutes on the floor.
The Mavs guard drove the ball 25 times in Game 3 to lead the team, and he had just 23 drives in the first two games combined. Dallas needs Brunson to score 20 points on efficient shooting if they want to upset the more talented Suns.
Expect Phoenix to put Mikal Bridges or Jae Crowder on JB more in Game 4 as they hope their length and strength can slow him down. The Dallas Mavericks need Jalen Brunson putting up numbers, and the Suns believe they can shut him down. It will be fascinating to watch on Sunday afternoon, so do not miss it.
