Thing that will decide Dallas Mavericks Game 4 vs. Suns: 5. Sharing the ball
The team that has dished out more assists has won each of the first three games in this series. Including the regular-season meetings, the squad with more dimes has won five of six with the Mavericks grabbing a one-assist edge in a November loss to the Suns.
Phoenix has one of the best offenses in the league because they have so many ways to attack a defense. Chris Paul and Devin Booker can get wherever they want on the court and are absolute killers in the mid-range. Deandre Ayton has a soft touch around the basket and a lethal mid-range game. Mikal Bridges is a two-way force that can shoot and attack a closeout. Jae Crowder is 11 of 18 from 3-point range in this series. There is no option to let roam free, so the Suns share the ball to create open looks.
The Mavs have to trust each other and share the ball if they want to win Game 4. Luka Doncic continued to put up unbelievable numbers as Jalen Brunson, Spencer Dinwiddie, and Maxi Kleber each had at least four assists on Friday night.
Dallas needs that ball movement on Sunday afternoon to win a second straight against the Suns. The team that produces more assists will win Game 4, but can Dallas share the ball enough to secure the victory?
