The Dallas Mavericks jumped out to an early lead against the Golden State Warriors in Game 2 before a disastrous third quarter on both ends of the floor propelled the Dubs to a victory. The series is 2-0 as things shift to Dallas, and the Mavs must-win Game 3 if they are going to have any chance of advancing to the NBA Finals.

Friday’s loss was so disappointing because Dallas had a 19-point lead and Luka Doncic went for 42 points on 12 of 23 shooting from the field. The Mavericks had Golden State on the ropes, but they could not finish off the win.

Dallas just overcame a 2-0 deficit against the Phoenix Suns to advance to the Western Conference Finals. If they plan on doing it again, winning on Sunday night is a must, but how can the Mavericks accomplish that?

Golden State has a plus-29 rebounding edge after the first two games of this series. They are dominating the Mavericks on the glass, and Dallas needs to find an answer. They can afford to lose the rebounding battle, but the Mavs will struggle to win if the disparity on the boards is in double-digits.

Dallas also needs to do a better job at limiting Kevon Looney’s easy buckets. He had a career-high 21 points in Game 2 as he just slips past the defense to score at the rim.
