Dallas Mavericks stud in win over Kings: 1. Luka Doncic
It was not Luka’s best game, but he still led the Mavs in scoring as he controlled the tempo of the game. Doncic had his team’s offense rolling as he finished with 23 points, ten assists, eight rebounds, one steal, and one block in 35 minutes of action. The 22-year-old superstar only made one 3-pointer, but it was this massive one in the fourth quarter to give Dallas some breathing room.
Fans have still not seen the best of Luka this season. He did well finishing inside against the Kings on Sunday afternoon and had a strong performance, but his jumper is off. Doncic is just ten of 42 from 3-point range through six games. Hopefully, the late logo make helps him find it moving forward.
Luka Doncic is an unstoppable offense force, and the Mavs look to be figuring out their spacing. Expect the 22-year-old to continue improving as the season goes on and the comfort in new head coach Jason Kidd’s system grows.
For as much panic as fans have had in the early going, Sunday’s win puts them at 4-2 on the young season. The Dallas Mavericks have won two of three games with Kristaps Porzingis on the sidelines, and they have yet to play their best basketball. Stay tuned because no team is looking forward to facing the Mavs this season.
