Dallas Mavericks stud in win over Kings: 2. Frank Ntilikina
Ntilikina got a chance in the rotation with Kristaps Porzingis and Sterling Brown out during the team’s back-to-back on Thursday and Friday. The 23-year-old guard rewarded them with strong play, especially against the Spurs. The French Prince stayed in the rotation with Brown back in the lineup, and he continued to shine on Sunday afternoon.
Ntilikina finished with 12 points, three rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 21 minutes of action. He was four of six from the field, including hitting two 3-pointers. The 6’5 wing also made both of his free throws and had this beautiful finish.
The French Prince is now five of 12 on threes so far this season. It has only been six games, but it appears the 23-year-old has improved his jumper significantly. The Mavs signed Ntilikina for his defense, but his offense has been a welcomed sight. If he can consistently knock down jumpers, Ntilikina is the 3-and-D wing every team covets.
Expect Frank Ntilikina to remain in the rotation as long as he keeps hitting shots and playing strong perimeter defense. His play has been impressive so far, and the 23-year-old should only continue to improve.
