The Dallas Mavericks' training camp roster seems to be almost set after yesterday's signing of Derrick Jones Jr.

They've made plenty of moves to build around Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, and one move from the first night of free agency was named the No.1 most underrated move of the offseason by an NBA Writer.

Brian Martin of NBA.com wrote an article titled "5 underrated moves from 2023 NBA offseason" and listed Dallas' signing of Seth Curry as the most underrated move.

Dallas signed Curry to a two-year, $8 million contract a few hours after they re-signed Irving, and Martin may be right about this move being the most underrated move of the entire offseason. Curry is statistically one of the greatest shooters of all time, and he'll get plenty of open looks playing next to Doncic and Irving.

For his whole career, Curry is a 43.5 percent three-point shooter, ranking sixth all-time and third amongst active players. His brother Stephen Curry also recently listed him as a top-three shooter in the NBA right now (excluding himself of course).

Even with Seth's excellent stats and greatly valued contract, this signing has flown below the radar. No one is talking about it, and he could turn out to be the Mavericks' x-factor next season.

Shooters thrive playing next to Doncic and Irving, and Seth won't have to do much other than catch and shoot when those two are on the floor with him. He has also been great in his two previous stints with Dallas, and the next two years should be no different, as he is still playing great basketball at the age of 32.

Will Seth Curry end up being the most underrated signing of the summer? Can the Mavericks get over the hump and return to the playoffs next season?

Both of those questions will be answered next season, and we'll have you covered. Stay tuned to see how Seth Curry fits on the Dallas Mavericks and if he can carry his hot shooting numbers into next season.
