Ranking newly acquired Dallas Mavericks: 4. Carlik Jones
Transferring from Radford, after a standout three years where he earned an All-Big South first-team and became one of the top transfers in the country, Jones found himself at Louisville. The 23-year-old is a durable guard that started in all of his games for the Cardinals. He averaged 16.8 points per game and shined in the Las Vegas Summer League with 14 points per game in his five appearances for the Mavs.
He has fantastic court vision that allowed him to average almost five assists per game at Louisville. Jones could easily be higher on this list, but he will have to fight for a spot on the final roster. He can be a player that is dependable for all 82 games.
Jones rarely has an off day, and when he is not scoring, he finds other ways to get involved. The 6'1 guard proved in summer league that he belongs, but will it be a spot with the Mavericks? If he can make it to the start of the season, based on the upside he showed in college and how it has translated in Las Vegas, Jones will be a valuable piece coming off the bench.
