Dallas Mavericks fans assumed Josh Green was just being rested on the second night of a back-to-back on Dec. 10, but he also missed Monday’s win over the Thunder. The team is calling it a right elbow sprain, and the injury appears to be somewhat serious.

During his pregame press conference, head coach Jason Kidd said Green will miss a couple more games with the injury. The Mavs have three more games this week, and it sounds like Green could miss all of them.

The 22-year-old has transformed himself into a key piece of their rotation this season. He is shooting 44.4 percent from 3-point range, and the 6’5 wing brings energy and effort to the floor. The Mavericks will miss Josh Green in every contest, and stay tuned for all the latest.

Owner Mark Cuban was not shy about sharing his take on the team’s poor free-throw shooting. He told the Dallas Morning News his team would have five more wins if they could make their freebies.

The Mavs currently rank 29th in free throw percentage at 72.7 percent. Fans should not expect it to go up too much as Luka Doncic and Christian Wood both struggle to consistently hit their free throws.

NBA news

The NBA is revamping its end-of-the-year award trophies with MVP honors being named after Michael Jordan. They redesigned and renamed every trophy this year, and fans can read more in their official press release.

The other massive news was Cade Cunningham electing to have season-ending surgery to address a shin issue. The Texas native played in just 12 games this season, but he should be ready for training camp for the 2023-2024 campaign.

The Dallas Mavericks host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night in what should be a heavyweight showdown. Expect Luka Doncic to stay locked as the Mavs look to take care of business at the American Airlines Center. Do not miss it.
