The Dallas Mavericks began their season Wednesday night with a win over the San Antonio Spurs and Victor Wembanyama.

Despite all of the hype being around Wembanyama, the Mavs took care of business on the road to start the season 1-0.

Luka Doncic had a phenomenal game and finished with 33 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists. Despite Doncic's triple-double in the opening game, he topped that performance on Friday night in Dallas' win over Brooklyn.

Doncic finished with 49 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists while shooting 9-14 from downtown. He also made a nearly impossible circus shot at the end of the game to give the Mavs a three-point lead with less than 30 seconds remaining.

Despite Doncic being one of the best players in the NBA consistently, it seems that his haters are coming out of the woodwork just as the season begins. The media has been doubters of the Mavericks' potential success, but this comment from a former NBA All-Star takes the Luka hate to another level.

Kenyon Martin was on Gilbert Arenas' podcast "Gil's Arena" and talked about the Mavs and Luka and Kyrie Irving.

"In my opinion, I don't think he's the best player on his basketball team," Martin said. "If you give Kyrie the ball first [in a 1v1], Luka won’t touch the ball. Luka can’t guard this (expletive) camera stand."

Martin has something against Luka and roasts his defense and ability as an overall player with this statement. Through two games, Doncic has proved (even though it was obvious before) that he is the top dog in Dallas, as he has carried Dallas to two wins in the clutch.

Irving has had a rough start to the season, as he is averaging just 19.5 points per game on 39.0 percent shooting. Despite Irving's rough start, fans still don't have anything to worry about, as he is positively impacting the game despite his shooting numbers being down.

With Doncic's electric start, Kenyon Martin is likely eating his words as Doncic seems to be a frontrunner for MVP through two games. He is playing at an elite level, and his defense has been improved when he's locked in.

For all the latest on Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and the Dallas Mavericks this season, stay tuned.
