Most important Dallas Mavericks in playoffs: 3. Jalen Brunson

Jalen Brunson can just flat-out play. He has every tool a point guard needs to be successful in the playoffs. He can initiate the offense when Luka needs a breather, and he can play off the ball when Doncic is controlling it.

This season, Brunson is averaging a career-high 16.2 points per game and a career-high 4.9 assists while shooting 50.2 percent from the field and 37.3 percent from three with only 1.7 turnovers per game. He is doing everything the team needs him to do plus more while doing it efficiently.

Despite not having much success in the NBA Playoffs, Brunson still knows what it takes to win at a high level. During his time at Villanova, he helped lead his school to two NCAA national championships, while being named to the All-NCAA Tournament Team and winning AP Player of the Year in 2018. Jalen Brunson is a winner.

He is going to have to continue to be a major factor on this team and carry the winning traits he garnered in college with him when the playoffs roll around. He currently has the second most win-shares on the team and has asserted himself as one of the leaders in Dallas. Without Brunson, I'm not sure how far this team can go in the postseason.
