Most important Dallas Mavericks in playoffs: 4. Reggie Bullock
Remember when I mentioned the importance of shooting in the NBA and how it relates to winning in today's game? Well, Reggie Bullock might be the poster child of that statement.
The Mavs signed Bullock in the 2021 offseason for the sole purpose of shooting the deep ball and playing defense. Unfortunately, he hasn't done either of them very consistently. He's shooting 34.2 percent from three, which is far from his career-best, and his defense has had its ups and downs. However, he has had his moments from beyond the arc, and it shows in the win column.
This season, Bullock has 29 games in which he has made at least two 3-pointers, and the Dallas Mavericks are 23-6 in those contests. In the 32 games that Bullock makes one or fewer 3-pointers, the Mavs have a record of 15-17.
Reggie Bullock needs to make his outside shots for the Mavs in the postseason. Similar to Davis Bertans, if the 6'6 wing is shooting and hitting from deep, Dallas is probably going to win.
Superstar Luka Doncic needs shooters around him. If Bertans and Bullock will shoot the ball at a high clip, it's going to be a long series for the opposing team.
