The Dallas Mavericks are all in on winning a championship within the next few years as they re-signed Kyrie Irving to a three-year deal (with a player option after the second year) and still have Luka Doncic under contract for the next four seasons (with a player option after the third year and he'll most likely opt out for more money).

With all of that being said, the Mavs' window to win the NBA Finals with Doncic and Irving at the helm is short. All of the role players will have to click quickly with this dominant duo, or things won't go as planned for the Mavs.

Changes could be coming if Doncic and Irving don't work out together, and it'll be interesting to see what the Mavs do if this duo doesn't start making some deep playoff runs.

Here is a look at the Mavs' dream starting five in five years.

PG: Luka Doncic

No shocker here, the Mavericks' dream point guard of the future is Luka Doncic.

Doncic has played five seasons for the Mavs, and having him in Dallas for another contract would be a dream come true for Mavs fans. In five seasons in Dallas, Doncic has averaged 27.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, 8.0 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.

Doncic has turned into one of the league's best players right in front of Mavs fans' eyes, and losing a generational talent like Doncic would be heartbreaking. But they have to start winning if they want to keep him happy. There have already been rumors that Doncic could request a trade if Dallas doesn't improve (which he later turned down), and Dallas missing the playoffs again could drive him out of town.

If Doncic's game continues to develop and he gets better every season just like he has, he could have multiple MVP trophies at this point, and he will be the leader of the Mavs for years to come.

SG: Josh Green

The Dallas Mavericks and Josh Green have reportedly started contract extension talks, and Green seems like he wants to stay in Dallas. It remains unknown if Dallas will extend him, but if Green's player development goes the way that it should, he will be a reliable starter at this point in his career and potentially a high-end starter.

Green is a player that teams have been calling about because of his high upside, and his defense, energy, and athleticism make him the perfect fit next to Luka Doncic.

In three seasons for the Mavs, Green averaged 5.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 0.6 steals per game. These stats may seem underwhelming, but his improvement as a secondary playmaker and shooter off the catch is intriguing.

Last season for the Mavs, Green shot 40.2 percent from downtown. He was the only Maverick to shoot over 40 percent from downtown last season other than Jaden Hardy, and he must continue to excel in that role as Doncic creates plenty of open looks for him.

This shooting guard spot could still be reserved for Kyrie Irving if things go well for him in Dallas throughout his contract, but he would be 36 years old at this point. Irving also isn't known for staying on teams for long since leaving Cleveland, and Green developing into a star would be a dream come true for the Mavs organization.

SF: Olivier-Maxence Prosper

The Dallas Mavericks landed a traded player exception in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder on draft night, and they later used it in a trade with the Sacramento Kings to acquire Olivier-Maxence Prosper and Richaun Holmes.

Prosper could turn out to be one of the best players in the 2023 NBA Draft class, and he fills exactly what the Mavs need.

In five years, Prosper will be 26 years old and on his second contract with Dallas if they decide to extend him after his rookie contract. As a junior at Marquette, Prosper averaged 12.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 0.9 steals per game.

Prosper also impressed Mavs fans in Summer League with his ability to play defense, hustle, and score off the dribble. He surpassed expectations through his ability to attack closeouts and get to the basket, and will likely be much more than a 3-and-D wing in five years.

People from inside the Mavericks organization have already said they think Prosper will play from day one, and he looks like he will be a perfect fit for the Mavs.

If Prosper can continue to improve as a shooter and gain confidence off the dribble, the Mavs will have one of the best up-and-coming wings in the NBA once 2028 hits.

PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo

It's already been reported that Giannis Antetokounmpo's future in Milwaukee is uncertain.

Now imagine him and Luka Doncic running the Western Conference for years to come. Antetokounmpo has two more years guaranteed on his contract, and the Mavs could swoop in and form one of the best duos in the NBA by signing him.

Kyrie Irving also has a player option in this same summer, so landing Antetokounmpo is easier said than done, but playing alongside Doncic in Dallas would almost guarantee them to contend for the NBA Finals annually.

Over 10 years in the NBA, Antetokounmpo averages 22.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.1 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game. He has turned into one of the most dominant players in the NBA on both ends of the floor over the last few years, and game planning to play against him and Doncic would be a nightmare for opposing coaches.

Antetokounmpo is so special because he can lock down almost anyone on defense and has one of the most unstoppable games on offense. He can get to the basket whenever he wants and can play make some when needed as well.

Antetokounmpo is only 28 years old, and in five years he will be 33 years old. He and Doncic would dominate the NBA in every way, and the young players around them would complement their games perfectly.

C: Dereck Lively II

The Dallas Mavericks addressed their biggest need through the 2023 NBA Draft by selecting Dereck Lively II with the No. 12 pick. The Mavs needed a new rim protector, and they landed one of the best bigs in the draft in Lively II.

Lively II's stats from Duke may not jump off the page, but his defensive presence is evident every time he steps on the floor. People are afraid to drive on him, and he blocks shots that no one can get to but him.

In the NBA Summer League, he showed off his ability to rebound, block shots, and score second-chance points. He is a monster on the glass and will hopefully be the starting center for years to come after he gains some experience.

That's why Lively II is hopefully the starting center in five years. That will give him plenty of time to develop offensively, and hopefully, he is already an elite defender.

This dream lineup depends heavily on the development of Olivier-Maxence Prosper, Josh Green, and Lively II, but if all three players improve continuously, this would be a scary lineup alongside Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

This team would be elite defensively, and having some shooters and solid role players off the bench would make this Mavs team unstoppable. Doncic wouldn't be relied upon defensively, as almost every other player in this lineup has the potential to make an All-Defensive Team at some point in their career.

Landing Antetokounmpo and having Dallas' young players develop at this rate would be a sight to see, and this team could win multiple NBA Championships.
