Dallas Mavericks dream 2022 trade deadline: 2. Buy low on Justin Holiday
The Pacers are rumored to be sellers ahead of the Feb. 10 deadline with Caris LeVert, Myles Turner, and Domantas Sabonis all having their names mentioned in the buzz. Indiana is unlikely to enter a total rebuild, but they could ship off some pieces as they look to add draft capital.
The Mavericks have a need on the wing with Tim Hardaway Jr. out after having surgery to repair a broken bone in his foot. Sterling Brown has missed nine straight games with a foot injury, further hampering the team’s depth on the wing.
Justin Holiday is the perfect buy-low target for Dallas. The 6’6 wing spaces the floor and plays stout defense. He would not command the ball and can fit seamlessly in any lineup. The Mavs need another sturdy defender on the wing and some added floor spacing would be a plus.
Could the Dallas Mavericks trade a couple of second-round picks for Justin Holiday? He is set to make just over $6.2 million next season on an affordable deal that would be an asset with Luka Doncic’s max extension kicking in. Holiday is the perfect addition for Dallas at the deadline.
