Dallas Mavericks draft target to watch in 2022 March Madness: 1. Trevor Keels

First-round game: Duke vs. Cal State Fullerton: March 18 at 6:10 p.m. CT on CBS

Few expected Keels to be a one-and-done prospect coming into this season, but the 18-year-old wing has impressed on a loaded Blue Devils squad. He has three 25-point games, and Duke is undefeated in the 11 contests where he scored 13 or more. Keels has been inconsistent this season, but scouts are drooling over his potential on both ends of the floor.

He is a plus-athlete that could be a secondary creator and scorer that plays stout perimeter defense in the NBA. Keels showed flashes of those skills but has struggled to consistently knock down jumpers and his defensive intensity is not always there.

Trevor Keels may be the key to Duke making a deep run during March Madness. If he is locked in and playing his best basketball, the Blue Devils could be in the Final Four, and it could vault Keels into a lottery pick. If he struggles, Duke likely makes an early exit, and he will have to settle for being a late first-round selection.

Fans should enjoy March Madness and keep an eye on these five players as the Dallas Mavericks will have interest in all of them in the 2022 NBA Draft.
