What Dallas Mavericks must do to win Game 7 over Suns: 3. Aggression
Head coach Jason Kidd has talked a lot about the Mavericks getting “two feet in the paint” all season. When they are driving the ball and kicking out to shooters, Dallas is difficult to stop. The Mavericks are averaging 47.0 drives per game in this series, and they are shooting 50.0 percent from the field off of those attacks.
Luka Doncic and Jalen Brunson need to come out aggressive in Game 7. Dallas only had 38 drives in Game 5 as their offense stagnated. The Mavs were just taking too long to get into their sets. Expect a loud and rowdy crowd in Phoenix, and Luka and company need to quiet them by attacking and creating open looks.
The Mavericks must bring the aggression on the defensive end too. Phoenix keeps trying to attack Luka Doncic in their pick and rolls, and Dallas made a wise adjustment to limit their drop coverage in Game 6. They played a more aggressive blitzing defense on Devin Booker, and it limited the Suns to just 86 points.
The Dallas Mavericks must be aggressive on both ends of the floor on the road if they want to pull the upset and advance to the Western Conference Finals.
