Center Dallas Mavericks could target this offseason: 5. Mitchell Robinson

Robinson was a second-round pick in 2018 and is an unrestricted free agent coming off his rookie contract this summer just like Jalen Brunson. He discussed an extension with the Knicks, but the two sides did not strike a deal. Expect changes in New York after a disappointing season, and letting Mitch Rob walk could be part of the Knicks opening up cap space to make moves.

The Mavericks are rumored to be interested in Robinson. The 24-year-old is a strong rim protector and rebounder that scores efficiently on the offensive end. He could fit seamlessly into the Mavs rotation and would improve his game in Dallas.

NBA Stats looks at shots defended within six feet of the rim and measures the field percentage a player allows versus the opposition's average. Robinson sits at negative-10.1, which is 19th in the NBA. He averages 1.8 blocks and 8.6 rebounds in just 25.7 minutes per game too.

Mitch Rob does not run a ton of possessions as a roll man, but he has scored 1.42 points per possession in that play type, which ranks in the top eight percent in the league. Now imagine, him running with Luka Doncic, who is arguably the best pick and roll ball-handler in the world.

The Dallas Mavericks will not have cap space this summer, but they could add Mitchell Robinson for the taxpayer mid-level exception or look to acquire him in a sign-and-trade.
