Ranking the Dallas Mavericks trade assets

TIER 4: Josh Green, 2027 1st round pick, 2029 1st round pick

If the Mavs are going to make a blockbuster move, these are three assets that they have to offer. Their two first-round picks would have more interest because teams are hoping that things go south in Dallas before 2027, and they could be acquiring a lottery selection.

Dallas is unlikely to deal a first-round pick before the deadline because they want to hunt for a second star this offseason. The Mavericks could have all their first-round picks available to trade with the hopes of landing another All-Star to play next to number 77.

Josh Green has taken a significant leap this season and every team in the league would be eager to acquire the 22-year-old. He has improved his outside shooting and defense to work his way into a key rotation piece. If the Mavericks are trying to acquire an All-Star, any rebuilding team is asking for Green in return.

TIER 5: Luka Doncic

Doncic deserved his own tier as the one untouchable asset the Dallas Mavericks have. They are not dealing the 23-year-old superstar away under any circumstances. He may be the best player in the NBA right now, and he is under contract until at least 2026. The clock is ticking, but Dallas has zero reasons to move him this year.
