Should the Dallas Mavericks be worried about Reggie Bullock’s struggles?

Reggie Bullock cannot make a shot right now, but he is a plus-shooter that is getting plenty of wide-open looks. The 6’6 wing is a notoriously slow starter. He was shooting just 38.5 percent from the field and 32.1 percent on his 3-point attempts through 12 games to start last season, and fans know how that turned out.

Bullock is bringing the defense, and he will start making shots soon enough. Nearly every year, he struggles to make shots in October and November before heating up in December and shooting nearly 40 percent from 3-point range the rest of the way. Expect his numbers to follow a similar trend this season.

There should be zero worry about Reggie Bullock. Sure, they may be some frustration with the missed shots, especially when he is wide open or ruins a Luka Doncic highlight reel pass, but Bullock will start knocking down everything soon enough. The Mavericks would rather have him shooting 29 percent from 3-point range now and 40 percent in the playoffs than the other way around.

The Dallas Mavericks have not quite hit their stride yet. Luka Doncic is leading the league in scoring, but the team is still finding its footing. The best is still yet to come, so stay tuned and get ready for another fun ride that the organization is hoping leads to a second straight deep playoff run. Expect Bullock to get back on track and be a key part of the success.
