Will Tim Hardaway Jr. bounce back for the Dallas Mavericks this season?

Hardaway Jr. has always been a streaky shooter, and he never had that scorching hot stretch last season to even out his numbers. The 30-year-old is a professional scorer and shot-maker, who averaged 16.6 points per game over the last five seasons combined. He will put up points, but can THJ do it efficiently this year?

The 3-point shooting will improve. Hardaway Jr. has been healthy since the start of training camp, and Luka Doncic will create plenty of wide-open catch-and-shoot looks for him. Expect THJ to knock them down at an elite rate this season to boost his efficiency.

The difference between Hardaway Jr. shooting around 40 percent from the field and 43-plus are the long twos. Will he keep them under ten percent of his total shots? Can the Mavs turn just a few of them back into shots near the rim? It is something worth watching as the season progresses.

Tim Hardaway Jr. will bounce back this season, but to what degree is partially up to him. If the 30-year-old wing knocks down his jumpers and avoids the long twos, his numbers could look similar to what they were under coach Carlisle. If not, his playing time will be down, and the Dallas Maverick will once again be shopping him at the trade deadline.
