3 takeaways from Dallas Mavericks training camp live

Luka Doncic is taking a leadership role for the Dallas Mavericks
Luka has been the engine of the Mavs offense since his rookie season, but he has not always been the most vocal leader. It appears with Jalen Brunson gone, Doncic is stepping up and taking a leadership role head-on. Here is number 77 coaching rookie Jaden Hardy during Friday’s session.
Luka made sure to take a moment to coach up Jaden Hardy in practice.

Luka was on the court and having fun during practice. There were moments when the 23-year-old looked like he was going half speed after a long summer of basketball, but Doncic did not miss a chance to compete and have some fun on the floor.
Luka just loves to hoop 😁

There were a few fancy finishes and plenty of smiles from number 77. Yes, Doncic had a few choice words for the referees at times, but he is taking on more leadership and helping set the tone of energy and fun. Expect a monster season from Luka as the Mavericks look to make another deep playoff run.
