Dallas Mavericks most likely to be traded this season: 4. Josh Green

Green’s play and development could be the Mavs key to landing a marquee talent before the trade deadline. Any rebuilding team will want draft pick compensation, but trading for a young asset is even more appealing. The 21-year-old struggled in his first two NBA seasons, but he worked hard on his game this offseason in hopes of having a breakout third year.

Green is already turning heads. He is more confident and improved his shooting form. The 6’5 wing stood out during training camp live, and he should continue improving throughout the season.

Josh Green always plays with energy, and supporters had seen flashes of his potential, but he looks ready to put it all together. Having a third breakout where he proves to be a consistent 3-and-D role player that can be a tertiary ball-handler would be massive.

Teams will start calling about Green if his play improves, and the Dallas Mavericks could part ways if they are receiving a significant upgrade in return. Will a star become available before the trade deadline? Are Josh Green and two first-round picks enough to acquire an elite player to pair with Luka Doncic? Maybe not, but the 21-year-old should have value if the Mavericks make him available in search of an immediate upgrade.
