Meet Dallas Mavericks Las Vegas Summer League roster: Jaden Hardy- G
Hardy was projected to be a first-round pick, and he was one of 20 players in the green room on draft night. It turned into a long evening as the 6’4 was the last player left when the Mavericks traded into the draft to select him at 37th overall.
Over his 25 games with the G League Ignite split between the showcase and the Ignite Tour, Hardy averaged 19.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.2 steals in 32.6 minutes per game. He shot just 37.6 percent from the field and 30.9 percent on his threes.
Hardy will be the star of the Mavericks' summer league roster. Expect him to be the primary shot taker and scorer. The 6’4 guard can handle the ball and make plays, but he is best as a secondary creator. He will certainly be looking to hand out buckets in Vegas.
Dallas and summer league head coach Greg St. Jean want to see defense and efficiency from Hardy. He committed 3.4 turnovers per game during his time with the Ignite and shot the ball poorly. Can he make strides there, while playing consistent defense?
Jaden Hardy is likely the only player on the Dallas summer league roster that will be part of their 15-man squad during the regular season, and fans should tune in just to get their first glimpse of him in a Mavericks uniform.
