Dallas Mavericks grades for the first 30 percent of the season

Dallas Mavericks grades after 30 percent of the season: Dorian Finney-Smith
It has been a slow start to the season on both ends of the floor for Doe-Doe. He is shooting just 40.5 percent from the field and 33.1 percent from 3-point range, but the 6’7 wing has played in every game. Finney-Smith shows up and guards the opposition’s best player every night. He is playing the second-most minutes on the team and remains a key piece.
Grade: C-minus
The Dallas Mavericks need to get Dorian Finney-Smith back on track. If he is shooting over 39 percent from 3-point range and playing stout perimeter defense, the team is dangerous. They cannot afford for Doe-Doe to be a below-average 3-point shooter, and the Mavs are expecting him to bounce back quickly.
Dallas Mavericks grades after 30 percent of the season: Spencer Dinwiddie
Dinwiddie has been the team’s second-best player this season. He is averaging 16.7 points, 5.1 assists, and 1.0 steal in 31.5 minutes per game. The 6’5 guard is shooting 41.0 percent from 3-point range and is playing well as the team’s secondary ball-handler and creator.
Grade: A
Spencer Dinwiddie has been fantastic for the Dallas Mavericks through 26 games played. They need the 29-year-old to lighten Luka Doncic’s workload, and Dinwiddie is having the most efficient year of his NBA career.
