Good from Dallas Mavericks first 2 games: Luka Doncic

Doncic entered the season as the MVP favorite, and he has hit the ground running in the first two games. The 23-year-old superstar had 35 points and nine boards on opening night before dropping the first 20-point quarter of the season in the blowout win over the Grizzlies. Luka had 32 points, ten assists, and seven rebounds without playing a second in the fourth quarter of the impressive victory.

Doncic had a busy summer of basketball with the Slovenian National Teams, so he is in midseason form to start the regular season. His defense looks improved, and the Mavs star was already an unstoppable offensive force. Could this be the year Luka wins his first MVP honors?

Number 77 is dominating from the opening tipoff this year. He wants to set the tone early, and he has done it in two straight games. Coach Kidd has Doncic playing the first 12 minutes of the contest, and Luka is averaging 17.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.0 dimes in the opening period. Expect him to stay aggressive early in games as Dallas looks to jump into title contention this season.

Next. Should Christian Wood start?. dark

The Dallas Mavericks are going to be tough to defeat with Luka Doncic playing at an elite level. There is no stopping the 23-year-old superstar, and Christian Wood gives him a secondary option capable of dropping 20 every night. Good luck slowing down the Mavs this season, and stay tuned to see what is next.
