Should the Dallas Mavericks fill their final roster spot?

The Mavericks want to contend for a championship, and they have a clear hole on their roster. General manager Nico Harrison should be searching the trade market for a ball-handler as fans read this article, but owner Mark Cuban’s comments make it seem like the team is content heading into the season.

In a separate interview, Cuban hyped Frank Ntilikina as one of the most underrated Mavericks and a potential answer to the team’s playmaking shortage. The French Prince was drafted as a point guard, but he struggled in that role in New York. Will he take a step forward this season? It is not something the Mavericks should be banking on.

Short of a trade, it makes sense for Dallas to enter the season with just 14 players under contract. No difference-making free agent ball-handlers are left on the market, and the Mavs would be better served with the flexibility to make a trade during the season.
