Will this be the Dallas Mavericks roster that heads into the playoffs?

The Mavs are not done making moves. They only have 14 players under contract, so they will, at a minimum, add one more before training camp begins. Dallas won’t be done there. The front office will continue to look for trades through February’s deadline, and they will not hesitate to make a move if they find a deal to their liking.

The Mavericks know their roster is not the best in the league, and reaching the conference finals will be more difficult next season. The LA Clippers and Denver Nuggets should be healthier. Minnesota traded for Rudy Gobert to contend for a title, and Kevin Durant could end up back in the Western Conference. That makes no mention of the defending champion Warriors.

Dallas is going to have their hands full, and they will need to keep adding to their roster if they want to contend with the league’s best. Luka Doncic is one of the best players in the world right now, so the opposition will take note whenever he is on the court. He gives the Mavericks a chance to win every time out.
