Why the Utah Jazz are the team the Dallas Mavericks should be watching right now

The Donovan Mitchell trade is the next domino to fall, and the Jazz are in no rush. They will wait to extract the maximum possible value from the Knicks or another team in the deal. It appears that the three-time All-Star will not be in Utah to start the 2022-2023 regular season, which has the Jazz listening to trade calls on every player on their roster.

The Jazz have made six straight playoff appearances with the help of a talented roster behind Mitchell and Rudy Gobert. Mike Conley, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Jordan Clarkson will all draw interest on the trade market. Utah acquired Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, and Jarred Vanderbilt in the Gobert trade and all three have positive trade value. The salary return for Mitchell will likely head up on the block too.

The Mavericks need a playmaker to replace Jalen Brunson, and they would love to add some wing depth and defense to their roster. Conley, Bogdanovic, Clarkson, Beasley, Pat Bev, and Vanderbilt all make sense for Dallas to acquire as they look to round out their roster.

The Jazz are the team to watch because a total rebuild usually means selling every piece for the top offer. Utah may not wait for the maximum return in deals because they do not want to win games next season. Do not be surprised to see all six veterans moved before training camp begins this fall.
