Dallas Mavericks: 5 lineups Jason Kidd has to try this season

Dallas Mavericks lineup Jason Kidd has to try: 2. Second unit with Bobi
Boban Marjanovic proved he can make a massive impact on the game in the playoffs. Former Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle put the 7’4 big man into the starting five for the team’s final three games to counter the Clippers going small. Was it enough to earn Boban a regular role in coach Kidd’s system? Here is one possible second unit the Hall of Famer could use.
PG: Jalen Brunson
SG: Tim Hardaway Jr.
SF: Sterling Brown
PF: Maxi Kleber
C: Boban Marjanovic
The Mavericks are going to need at least one scorer on the floor. Assuming Luka Doncic needs a break, playing Kristaps Porzingis next to Bobi is not ideal. That leaves Tim Hardaway Jr. to pick up the slack and help create on the offensive end of the floor.
Marjanovic’s sheer size and soft touch make him a nightmare matchup for any opposing big man. He cleans the glass and can dominate the paint. The Mavs will need to put shooting and defense around Boban to make this lineup successful.
This second unit checks all the boxes for the Dallas Mavericks, but will Kidd use it? Boban Marjanovic is going to help the team win games this season, so stay tuned to see if he lands a more consistent role.
