Dallas Mavericks lineup Jason Kidd has to try: 3. Time for Moses
The Mavs traded Josh Richardson to the Boston Celtics for Moses Brown and a trade exception before free agency opened. The 7’2 big man showed flashes last season with the Thunder, and coach Kidd will likely be excited to see what he has in the 21-year-old.
PG: Luka Doncic
SG: Reggie Bullock
SF: Dorian Finney-Smith
PF: Kristaps Porzingis
C: Moses Brown
Can Moses Brown and Kristaps Porzingis share the frontcourt? Both players struggle defending on the perimeter, but it would give Dallas one of the tallest lineups in the league. Can Kidd figure out a group that works with both KP and Moses?
The Mavericks are loaded at the five. Dwight Powell, Willie Cauley-Stein, Boban Marjanovic, and Moses Brown will all be fighting for center minutes with Porzingis sliding into the position for significant stretches. Brown is still developing and will struggle to crack the rotation this season. When given an opportunity, the 21-year-old needs to shine to earn more time.
Bullock and Finney-Smith is the logical wing pairing as the Mavericks need all the perimeter defensive help they can get with his unit. Expect Kidd to experiment with plenty of lineups featuring two big men.
