Dallas Mavericks: 5 lineups Jason Kidd has to try this season

Dallas Mavericks lineup Jason Kidd has to try: 5. Fitting in new weapons
The Mavs added Reggie Bullock and Sterling Brown to improve their floor spacing, defense, and wing depth. What better way to find out what coach Kidd has to work with than throwing them both out there around the Mavericks' three top minute-getters from last season?
PG: Luka Doncic
SG: Sterling Brown
SF: Reggie Bullock
PF: Dorian Finney-Smith
C: Kristaps Porzingis
Last season, the Mavs outscored the opposition by 164 points over 2,262 minutes with Luka on the floor and were outscored by one when he was on the bench. Those numbers were even more stark during the playoffs but underscore how much better Dallas is with their star player running the show.
Putting four shooters around Doncic is a deadly offensive combination. Bullock and Brown both defend well on the perimeter, meaning this could turn into a lethal two-way lineup for the Mavericks if KP’s rim protection improves from last season. Luka and Porzingis will run plenty of pick and rolls as Kidd places an emphasis on drive and kicks this season.
Expect this lineup to be a hit, but it is far from the only one coach Kidd needs to experiment with this season.
