2022 NBA Draft mock #21: Chicago Bulls: Jaime Jaquez Jr.
Jaquez Jr. will lead a talented UCLA squad this season that has NCAA championship hopes. The 20-year-old is entering his third college season after averaging 12.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.2 steals in 34.9 minutes per game a year ago.
The 6’6 wing is not going to wow with his athletic chops, but he competes hard on both ends of the floor and consistently knocks down jumpers. NBA teams will be excited about his 3-and-D potential, but the 20-year-old has room to do more at the next level. Fans should be watching to see if he can make another leap during his junior campaign.
The Bruins have national title hopes and three potential first-round picks that are all wings. How will coach Mick Cronin split the minutes between Jaquez Jr., Peyton Watson, and Johnny Juzang? It is a positive problem to have and fans should expect all three to play together for stretches.
The Chicago Bulls are looking for wings to put around their new big four, and Jaime Jaquez Jr. is the perfect fit. He does not need the ball to be effective as he will knock down open shots and compete hard on the defensive end of the floor.
