2022 NBA Draft mock #20: Atlanta Hawks: Allen Flanigan
Flanigan is currently recovering from an offseason Achilles procedure that should have him back at some point this season. Still, it will likely depress the 20-year-old’s draft stock. He is already an older player with three years of college experience by the time the 2022 NBA Draft rolls around. Flanigan will need to get back and prove he is fully healthy if he wants to be selected inside the lottery.
There is a ton to like about his defensive ability. The 6’6 wing competes hard on that end of the floor. He has an NBA-ready body and the potential to be a switchable defender that thrives guarding multiple positions.
Flanigan improved tremendously from his freshman to his sophomore season at Auburn. Expect him to take another step forward once he is healthy and back on the floor.
The Atlanta Hawks continue to add talent as they look to build a title contender around Trae Young. They are fresh off a run to the Eastern Conference Finals, but their team is getting expensive. The Hawks will be happy to add a versatile wing on a rookie contract. If Allen Flanigan can stay healthy, expect him to grow into a steady rotation player in Atlanta.
