2022 NBA Draft mock #18: Chicago Bulls (via Trail Blazers): Jean Montero
The Blazers owe their first-round pick to the Bulls if it falls outside the lottery. They are off to an uneven start to the year with superstar Damian Lillard struggling to find his shot. Portland has won four of their five home games but has yet to grab a victory in four tries on the road. Expect Dame to find his footing and lead the Trail Blazers into the postseason giving this selection to the Bulls.
Montero has two years of professional experience playing Spain before signing with Overtime Elite. The 18-year-old from the Dominican Republic is the top prospect in the latest avenue for teenagers looking to fulfill the one-year gap required from high school before heading to the NBA.
Montero is a 6’2 guard that breaks defenses down off the dribble. He is one of the best ball-handlers and playmakers in the class, and the teenager has plenty of upside to keep improving.
He shot just 29.5 percent from 3-point range during his two professional seasons playing in Spain, and his jumper could hold him back from being a lottery selection.
The Chicago Bulls will be searching for wings and playmakers in the 2022 NBA Draft, and they get one of the top point guards in Jean Montero here.
