2022 NBA Draft mock #16: Sacramento Kings: Ousmane Dieng
After winning five of their first nine games, ESPN has projected the Kings to make the playoffs this season, which would snap a 15-year drought. Sacramento has no plans on stopping there as they continue to build around their three talented guards.
Dieng is a 6’8 forward that can handle the ball and make some plays. He is listed at just 185 pounds, but Sacramento would be adding another talented and versatile option to pair with De’Aaron Fox, Tyrese Haliburton, and 2021 first-round pick Davion Mitchell. Amassing talent appears to be the Kings plan, and there are only a few more skilled than Dieng in this class.
The 18-year-old signed to play in Australia this season as part of the Next Stars Program. It is the same path that LaMelo Ball and R.J. Hampton have taken. Scouts will be looking for Dieng to add some mass and to see how he performs against professional competition. It will be a chance for him to shine and vault his way into the top ten.
Ousmane Dieng has a wide range of draft outcomes heading into the 2021-2022 season, and fans should be watching his performance closely in the NBL.
