2022 NBA Draft mock #13: Charlotte Hornets: Nikola Jovic
The Hornets are off to a fast start, but ESPN still projects them to miss the playoffs this year. They have traded this pick to the Knicks with a top 18 protection, so Charlotte will keep it unless they are in the postseason.
Jovic is already playing a significant role of Mega Basket in the Adriatic League. Last season, he was limited to just four games in that competition, but he has already appeared in six during the 2021-2022 campaign where Jovic is averaging 7.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in 27.4 minutes per game.
The 6’10 forward stood out at the FIBA Under-19 World as he led Serbia to a fourth-place finish in the event. He averaged over 18 points and eight rebounds per game while blocking 1.7 shots to land on the All-Tournament team.
The Hornets have emphasized adding talented wings with size in recent years under GM Mitch Kupchak. Nikola Jovic gives them another one with tremendous upside. The teenager is already playing significant professional minutes. His defense is questionable, but there is a lot to like, and the Hornets are happy to add another talented prospect to their roster.
