Trade for Dallas Mavericks to acquire Goran Dragic: 1. Mavs give Terry

The Raptors will likely ask for Josh Green, but the Mavs are high on the 20-year-old wing. They have no reason to trade him for one year of Goran Dragic. The Mavericks’ young asset that could head to Toronto is Tyrell Terry. The deal would likely look like this.

Powell is the most likely player to be included because of his $11 million salary. The Mavericks would have to trade away too many pieces if DP is not involved, and it allows the veteran big man to return home to Toronto. The Raptors add Terry, Trey Burke, and a second-round pick here. It gives them two rotation pieces this season and a young talent to develop.

The Mavericks replaced Donnie Nelson and Rick Carlisle with Nico Harrison and Jason Kidd this offseason. Their new duo did not draft Terry. Do they believe in his potential? Dallas won’t give him away for free, but a trade could happen if it helps the Mavs win now.

The Toronto Raptors would love to get something of value for Goran Dragic. Here is an in-depth look at why the Dallas Mavericks are unlikely to trade for the 35-year-old guard.
