Player Dallas Mavericks should have acquired over Reggie Bullock:1. Goran Dragic
Goran Dragic is a proven point guard that excels in the postseason. The 35-year-old wants to play with his friend and countrymen Luka Doncic in Dallas. The duo led the Slovenian National Team to the championship in EuroBasket 2017. Dragic never got his chance at free agency, though.
The Miami Heat picked up his $19.4 million team option before him trading to the Toronto Raptors for Kyle Lowry. Dragic would prefer to move on, but the Raptors are not eager to buy him out. They are hoping a trade materializes for the veteran.
Dragic averaged 13.4 points and 4.4 assists per game last season. The 6’3 guard can play on or off the ball. He would space the floor for Luka to attack and create some wide-open looks for the Mavs superstar.
Right now, the Dallas Mavericks are trying to figure out how they can acquire Goran Dragic without trading away more draft picks. They might have to do a three-team trade to get him.
Reggie Bullock is a fantastic wing that should thrive in Dallas, but these were three guards that the Mavericks should have focused their attention on first. The organization still needs another creator. Stay tuned to see if they can find one before training camp begins.
