Player Dallas Mavericks should have acquired over Reggie Bullock: 2. Mike Conley
Mike Conley is a veteran point guard that has been to the playoffs eight times in his 14 NBA seasons. The 33-year-old could help Luka Doncic and the Mavs get over the postseason hump after two straight first-round exits.
Conley averaged 16.2 points, 6.0 assists, 1.4 steals in 29.4 minutes per game last season with the Jazz. He dealt with injury issues down the stretch and into the playoffs. That did not stop him from helping Utah advance to the second round. The Clippers ended their season, but Conley missed five of the six games in the series.
The 33-year-old averaged just 1.9 turnovers per game last season. He is a proven playmaker that would provide a boost to any contender.
Conley would have been able to play next to Luka Doncic in the starting and closing lineups while picking up the lead ball-handling duties when the Mavericks superstar needed a rest. He is a career 37.9 percent 3-point shooter and has averaged over six assists a night in eight different seasons.
Mike Conley didn’t last long on the opening night of free agency as the Utah Jazz signed him to a new three-year deal that the Dallas Mavericks could not afford.
