Post-free agency trade for Dallas Mavericks to consider: 1. KP to Blazers

Some Mavs fans are still dying for the organization to trade Kristaps Porzingis after his playoff struggles. That seems like a mistake. Coach Jason Kidd is excited about working with KP and trying to help him unlock his All-Star form. The change in scheme and added confidence instilled by the Hall of Fame point guard could have the Unicorn playing the best basketball of his career.

The Mavericks are not looking to trade Porzingis. Owner Mark Cuban has made that clear on several occasions, but Dallas has too many big men currently on their roster.

The Trail Blazers could be looking to take a swing to keep Damian Lillard happy. Trading CJ McCollum is one avenue to explore. The two teams swapping second stars may do wonders for both sides. McCollum gives Doncic another ball-handler and playmaker, while KP spaces the floor for one of the best shooters in the game. It is a swap both teams should at least consider.
