Meet Dallas Mavericks summer league roster: Josh Green- G/F
Green is on the Mavs roster, but may not play in Las Vegas. The 20-year-old was part of the Australian Olympic team that won a bronze medal in Tokyo. He played in just three games and a total of seven minutes, but the experience was massive as he enters his second NBA season.
Green played just 445 minutes with the Mavericks last season. His energy and effort were infectious when he got time on the court, but minutes were difficult to come by as Dallas was pushing for playoff positioning.
Green did showcase his versatile skill set inside the G League bubble. He averaged 13.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.3 steals in 29.7 minutes per game. The 6’5 wing is a strong perimeter defender with a developing 3-point shot. He has shown flashes, but the 20-year-old hasn’t displayed the consistent yet.
Josh Green is expected to join the Dallas Mavericks summer league team in Las Vegas, but he may not play a minute. The 20-year-old left Tokyo on Aug. 7, so consider him unlikely for the team’s first game. Beyond that, the coaching staff will determine if Green is fit and ready. Mavs fans would love to see him compete in Las Vegas.
Dallas brings a strong squad to summer league this year. Be sure to tune in and see what they can do on the court in Las Vegas over the next ten days.
