The Dallas Mavericks started the offseason with a flurry. They did not have a draft pick but traded Josh Richardson to the Celtics for Moses Brown in a cap clearing move. The Mavs used that space to sign four players in the opening hours of free agency. Tim Hardaway Jr. and Boban Marjanovic were brought back with Reggie Bullock and Sterling Brown agreeing to come to Dallas. The Mavericks added wing depth and shooting around Luka Doncic.
The organization has been quiet since the free agent flurry. Four days have passed with just minimal chatter about the Mavs. Aug. 6 was the first day free agents could sign, but Dallas only made the Bullock deal official. Are they saving up for another transaction?
The most common transaction brought up by fans is acquiring Goran Dragic. Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer said it is unlikely the Mavericks trade for him because they believe he will be bought out at some point. Will he sign in Dallas? Do the Mavs have other moves up their sleeves?
Will the Dallas Mavericks make another move this offseason?
The Mavs have 15 players under contract, so they are done signing talent unless a trade is made. They will add a second two-way player, but his time with the Mavericks will be limited. Will fans get the trade they are hoping for or another marquee signing? The moves have to come via trade at this point because the free-agent market is virtually dry, and Dallas has no room on their roster.
A deal is likely on the horizon from the Dallas Mavericks at some point this offseason. Here are three reasons why.
