2021 NBA Draft mock #28: Philadelphia 76ers: Joshua Primo
Primo is the youngest player in this class. He turns 19 on December 24. The 6’5 guard averaged 8.1 points and 3.4 rebounds in 22.5 minutes per game during his lone season at Alabama. He shot 43.1 percent from the field, 38.1 percent on his 3-point tries, and 75.0 percent from the free-throw line.
His stock took another leap at the combine. He measured with a 6’9 wingspan. Primo is a shot-maker, but his playmaking chops were on display in Chicago.
Teams are now dreaming of drafting an 18-year-old with tremendous upside on both ends of the floor. It was no guarantee that he would stay in the draft heading into the combine. It will be interesting to see how far his outstanding performance in Chicago pushes him up the draft board on July 29.
The Philadelphia 76ers are always searching for floor spacers to put around Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. Primo gives them a young talent to develop. Daryl Morey loves shooters, so expect it to be a fantastic fit for Joshua Primo in Philly. The 18-year-old could go down as the steal of the draft if he slips into the late first round and reaches his ceiling.
