2021 NBA Draft mock #25: LA Clippers: Ziaire Williams

Williams left Stanford after one year where he averaged 10.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 0.9 steals in 27.9 minutes per game. The 19-year-old needs to improve his shot selection. He shot just 37.4 percent from the field and 29.1 percent on his threes. There is plenty to like about his long-term potential, though.

The 6’10 forward is a special athlete that continues to improve his ball-handling and playmaking chops. Williams has the potential to be a two-way force, but he is unlikely to be ready for a role as a rookie. He has a slight frame. Williams should spend plenty of time in the G League during the regular season as he improves his body and game, while getting consistent minutes.

The Clippers face the ultimate franchise-altering decision this offseason, and they get little say in it. Kawhi Leonard can opt-out of his contract and become an unrestricted free agent. He is expected to remain in Los Angeles. If he leaves, the Clippers go from title contender to playoff hopeful.

Kawhi staying could force LA to look for a more NBA-ready option. The Clippers could use a young talent that needs time to develop, though. Ziaire Williams fits the mold, and he could grow into a top ten player in this class if he reaches his ceiling.
