2021 NBA Draft mock #24: Houston Rockets (via Milwaukee Bucks): Tre Mann
The Rockets continue to fill out their backcourt with the addition of Tre Mann. The 20-year-old guard took a massive step forward in his second season at Florida. He averaged 16.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.4 steals in 32.4 minutes per game. Mann shot 45.9 percent from the field, 40.2 percent on his threes, and 83.1 percent from the foul line.
The 6’4 guard profiles as a plus shooter and scorer in the NBA. He needs to keep improving his playmaking ability and ball-handling to reach his full potential. Mann is more of a secondary creator that can get buckets.
His defense is the biggest question mark. Mann shows flashes but lacks consistency. The 20-year-old measured with a 6’4 wingspan at the combine. He may not have the length or quickness to defend against elite scorers. Early on in his NBA career, his team may have to hide him on a less option.
The Rockets want floor spacers. Tre Mann profiles as an above-average shooter that can score, handle the ball, and make simple plays. Houston would be ecstatic to grab him and Ayo Dosunmu with back-to-back picks in the late-first round.
