2021 NBA Draft mock #14: Golden State Warriors: Moses Moody
The Warriors have two lottery picks this year. In this mock, they took Davion Mitchell seventh overall. Golden State will be looking to improve their depth and add some key rotation pieces as they gear up to try to fight their way back into title contention.
Moody took a leap in his lone season at Arkansas. He averaged 16.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.0 steal in 33.8 minutes per game. The 19-year-old shot 42.7 percent from the field, 35.8 percent on his threes, and 81.2 percent from the foul line. He flashed as a scorer and shooter that loves to crash the glass.
Moody’s ability to move without the ball and knock-down shots make him the perfect fit in Golden State. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson will draw plenty of defensive attention, which should allow Moody to feast on open catch-and-shoot triples as a rookie. The 19-year-old should be a role player in his first season with the potential to grow into a starter for the next decade-plus.
The Warriors add two guards that are going to compete hard on both ends of the floor in this mock. Will Golden State trade James Wiseman this summer or continue developing the young big man? The Dubs want to win now, so expect that to be their focus this offseason.
